The party of slavery should take responsibility for being the party of slavery.
Every so often, some Democrats call for reparations to compensate Black Americans for slavery and other indignities.
The latest plan comes from San Francisco, where a reparations committee is considering a program that would offer $5 million per qualified Black resident.
Let’s analyze the issue of reparations from the standpoint of morality and practicality.
Most people believe that compensation for misdeeds should come from the people who caused the misdeeds. For example, if John Smith and Joe Brown recklessly damage your car, you expect Smith and Brown (or their insurance companies) to pay for the repairs. Normally, you would not expect the repairs to be financed by the entire town in which you live: That would make no sense.
What if Joe Brown died shortly after the accident? Would you expect his children or grandchildren to pay you? Probably not. Instead, your claim for compensation would be focused on the surviving reckless driver, John Smith. We can apply this logic to the reparations issue.
Obviously, no person alive today existed during the slave era or as an adult in the subsequent Jim Crow or Ku Klux Klan eras.
However, there are certain responsible entities that existed then and now:
-The United State government
-Eleven slave states of the Confederacy plus four union slave states
-A handful of corporations with origins dating before the end of slavery
-The Democratic Party
I did not include the Republican Party for a very good reason: It was formed in 1854 by a bunch of abolitionists for the express purpose of ending slavery, which was accomplished at enormous cost 11 years later. On the other hand, the Democratic Party has to be listed for very important reasons, which are explained later.

This absolutely needs to be a Republican campaign point. And that the democRATs are at it again, trying to make everyone slaves to the state under socialism/communism and the marxist doctrines being pushed under Black Liberation Theology.
With all the qualifications they are adding to be able to collect $5million they should just simplify it, and have the committee simply declare that the only people eligible are those whose fingerprints match those on the committee.
Besides slavery, the Democraps should also pay for lynchings, Jim Crow, segregation, harassment, unequal pay, literacy tests, racism, KKK, I’d say a billion for each victim coming straight from the coffers of the DNC.

Following their trials, convictions, and sentencing for murder and treason, Demonicrats should pay for the rope they use for one-time testing.
Plus republicans fought and died to free the slaves so they should get reparations too.
Once you engage the reparationshists with dialogue and argument you play into their hands with the acknowledgement that it’s a matter under consideration. By ignoring it in toto you you treat it like the wild half baked fevered dream of the laughing stock it is.
I think that now that the NFL has become a celebration of slavery, those bass turds should pay half and the DNC pay the other half. Slavery isn’t a taxpayer problem. Americans have been carrying and paying for those people for long enough already.
The Democrats will happily vote to pay reparations out of their party’s pocket... after they fill their coffers with taxpayer money.

I understand the rationale behind this argument though disagree because it gives credibility to the idea that reparations should be paid to begin with.
It has become more and more evident in the college level of sports.
Things change on a world level and it has become much more rapidly
than it has in the past. Hell just look at the change to this land called
the USA since Columbus sailed in 1492. And look at who were the
powers that were in those forming years including a civil war....
They should be responsible for any reparations and they should also be required to house every illegal immigrant and pay for their medical bills etc. They should also be responsible and house all homeless and pay for and house all the LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ sick twisted psychos.
If a law was passed and enforced to do so, you’d see a major shift in switching parties
Where did all of that money go? There are currently an estimated 41 million black people in the United States. Even if we assumed there were that many in 1965, that works out to $560,975 PER PERSON.
That strikes me as more than enough "reparations".
The problem of course, is that all reparations really are, is another way for the government leeches to funnel a boatload of the people's money through their sticky fingers, and skim most of it for themselves. It is just another socialist scam.
Just put on the federal and state tax forms the donation amount to the reparations fund. Run it for 10 years and split the fund amongst all the people submitting for reparations. As it will be voluntary, I’m sure Democrats will cough up a few bucks for it.

Agree. Also, how will eligibility be determined and subsequently validated? It’s my guess that a high percentage of Caucasians if taken a DNA test will find they have some black ancestry, especially those who are of southern European ancestry. Keep in mind that the ancient Greeks and Romans tromped all over the Middle East and the northern rim of Africa. Then, there’s ancient trade; Portuguese, Spain, on and on. This will be one big cluster fu€k, for sure…
