History clearly does rhyme.
If you want to drill down into the weeds on that subject, read The Fourth Turning (click here). Written in 1997, it prophesies in great detail how our society has turned upside down every 80 or so years for many hundreds of years. I first read the book in 1998, and it describes to a tee our society (falling apart)today like a crystal ball.
Oh My Dear God put me in a time machine and send me back to 1979 and the wonderful days of Ronald Reagan as our president.
That was a truly majestic era in American history. It’s sad to think upon it and realize we are never going back to it ever again.
Totally there with your bold final sentiment.
I prefer, though, He send us a Reagan now to fix the mess Biden (Carter) is massively creating.
(Please don’t tell me Trump is Reagan. I’m looking more to another Ron, though that still might not be good enough.)
They could dig Reagan up from his grave today, and he’d still be a better candidate as a corps with Alzheimer’s than the current nominees.
I sure do miss The Gipper !
Since we have not figured out how to make this time-travel thing work (at least while we are alive on this planet), I agree. Bring us another Reagan.
We need/want someone who has the intelligence to deal with the hard-core, unmitigated mess we've made for ourselves in the last 30-plus years, manage an out-of-control government and do those things while building us up -- and not down.
maybe it was i was young but those were the GREATEST times of my life.
The 80’s are never coming back...
I couldn’t agree more. The country’s last high point was that decade, and those days are gone for all time.
One of the greatest ever.
We are on the brink now the way we were then.
Does anyone remember Reagan’s slogan?
