Not sure. I can tell a Parisian accent like I can tell a NYC accent, but all other French (in France) sounds the same to me.
And my family was from Marseille/Bordeaux.
But it happens all the time.
I’ve always suspected that the first French speakers were cast out of their tribe because of speech impediments.
