Stalin was concerned with the costs and political troubles of caring for the disabled, so he got rid of them. Putin is just speeding up the process and attempting to conceal it.
Most know that a wounded enemy can require two or more soldiers to be removed from the battle, and the Russian dead are abandoned. The cost to a caring society for a VA-type system is massive and labor-intensive. Putin is trimming expenses because Russia lacks the funds and the manpower.
Those suicides are tragic, they use guns under the chin, knives in the throat, and the most common is to hold a grenade to their head or hug it to their chest.
Let’s urge terrorists the world over to kill themselves, as sacrifices for the good of their world and their god. Same with democrats, who should sacrifice themselves in order to help stop climate change. If climate change is man-made, then, the sacrifices of half the world (iow, the leftists), would go a long way towards solving the problems. In their next lives, they can find out if their sacrifices worked.

There is absolutely no difference between our kids giving up their financial security for life, and them asking for theirs to commit suicide.

This story is from a Ukrainian source and is not Russia’s state controlled First Channel urging their own soldiers to suicide. It appears to be urging Ukrainians to suicide.
