Like him or not, Bush has done the most in the last year to affect human events. Bush and Blair, but Bush has obviously been the leader.

You can say the same for OBL in '01, but Time picked Giuliani.

Leader of what?

Kicking butt on some backwater, POS country with a complete idiot for a leader? While here in our own country many regions are being *completely* over run with *millions* of people that entering our country routinely, at will?

The epic flood of illegals is creating nationwide fraud, choking off our hospitals, highways, freeways, choking off our social services, our classrooms, landfills, packing our jails, while driving up taxes and and taking jobs?

Leader of what?

Given Time's proclivity for the generic, if affecting human events is the criteria, I'd like to nominate The Human Race for Person(s) of the Year.

One of the problems Time faces is that, simply by the nature of the office, the President of the United States will almost always have done the most to impact the events of the year. They obviously can't give it to him every time. This was a nice second choice, in my opinion, and I'm sure it's one our President is pleased with.
