This is strange. Are you saying that these camps are going on now? I was in Vietnam in 2005 and had a wonderful time. I thought they were past this stuff. I was in the capitol so maybe this stuff goes on out in the country somewhere. Where I was, it seemed very modern and the people loved us. I had a blast!!! We were on a vacation for a week. We went to Cambodia to Anchor Wat which was absolutely amazing. Thailand is just plain amazing. I believe that Americans are going to be doing more and more trade with Vietnam and also you will see it as a hot vacation place in a few years. I guess they are going to have to fix thes camps though before the really open up Vietnam to vacationers.

Not the camps. The reeducation. POst 1975 there hundreds of thousands sent for reeducation, from the lowliest private to flight officers to government officials. Now it is a far smaller number.

I know of several Vietnam era officers who have been released post-1995, and of another civilian publisher who was released from jail only a couple years ago (he was incarcerated right after 1975).
