I can't believe what I am reading. "are the picutures real?" Where have you guys been living? Under a rock?
The pictures of torture and unhumane treatment of another human being have nothing to do with John Kerry, the Democrats, or the Republicans. They are pictures of torture.
Unless you are a Vietnamese or know of one, you wouldn't bellieve that the VC had put almost all who had anything to do with the old regime in their so called "reeducation" camps. These were prisons. They didn't just imprisoned war criminals, high ranking officers, they imprisoned everybody.
My cousins and I grew up without our fathers. My father and 4 of his brothers were imprisoned. Two were in for 10 years each.
My father was a captain, but he didn't kill anyone. He was a professor at the Polwar college in DALAT. They imprisoned him for 4 years. His last days were spent in that box you saw in the picture. Starved and beaten. After 30 days, they stangled him with their bare hands. They didn't even burry him. He was tossed out into the woods!!!!
All of you who have never seen war, went to war, nor lived through a war shouldn't be to quick to jump on the Bush wagon...
"Unless you are a Vietnamese or know of one, you wouldn't believe"
I believe it. And I am deeply shamed that my country deserted its ally.
At the same time, I have been advocating war against Islam since well before the first Gulf War. My reason for supporting it was perhaps expressed best by Dwight Eisenhower: "Americans, indeed all free men, remember that in the final choice a soldier's pack is not so heavy a burden as a prisoner's chains."
First Inaugural Address, January 20, 1953
Care to refute this experience?
Or those of the other South Vietnamese boat people I've lived with ?
We are all sorry for what your father, you and your family.
The pictures do indeed have something to do with John Kerry and the Democrats. Kerry's actions caused torture. Just ask veterans of the Hanoi Hilton what they did to them after JK and Jane Fonda spouted off.
Most people, unless they are young, know what the VC did and to whom. They took a page from China's playbook.
As for your father not killing anyone. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't be so sure. Would you be unhappy if he killed a VC?
And those of us who jump on "Bush's wagon" as you called it, do so because we hate the evil like that that went on in Vietnam. It is because of our compassion for those that live without the freedoms we enjoy that we support such a strong and clear-minded President. True, we can't fully understand the grit and horror of war, but it is the appreciation for the gifts that come from it. If we had been able to finish the job as we were so poised to do, then Vietnam would be a much better place, and your family would have, perhaps, had a better life. Your anger is misplaced, my friend. Be angry at the VC for what they did, and be grateful that there are those that didn't have to suffer.
