As the Battalion S-1 Personnel Clerk I do remember typing up Lt. Col. HAL G. MOORE's handwritten Letters of Condolances to the Families and Loved Ones of our U.S. 7th Cavalry's dead and wounded of the Battle of IA DRANG-1965. Some going thru Mrs. JULIE MOORE for her personal hand delivery in Columbus GA outside Ft. Benning.

As the son of a 30-year Navy man who did two stints off Nam in the late-60's, the stories about the folks back home really hit home with me. The battlefield valor is obviously the most commendable thing going, but the resolute strength of the wives back home is almost as impressive.
