A few have tried to pin it on Mr. Scaife. Needless to say, this seems a bit of a stretch. Even if we grant, for the sake of argument, that Scaife were the sort of man who would resort to violence in retaliation for some boilerplate leftwing rants on a Web site, one would think that a business mogul with Scaife's resources would have been able to hire hitmen of sufficient skill and intelligence to carry out the deed in a more discreet location than right outside Scaife's office.
