Romania has no intentions of withdrawing its troops from the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq, President Traian Basescu said Saturday, vowing to stay "because it's a dishonor to leave your allies."..................... "Romania's honor is greater than its feelings," he said.A US State Department spokesman, when asked about President Basescu's statement complained, "We don't have any idea what he was talking about. It makes no sense to us.

So when are we gonna follow through with Rummy's talk of moving bases in Western Islamic Europe into Eastern Free Europe?

God bless this little country. They were one of the first to stand by us after 9/11, in Afghanistan and in Iraq. These countries are the "new" Europe, they have very recent experience of living under brutal dictatorship, and I don't think they are quite as comfortable with the appeasement mentality of "old" Europe.

Of course it's sarcasm. Honor and loyalty are alien concepts to our State Department personnel.

Apparently, southern Europe has really made an effort to rehabilitate their cities. Good for them. Now, if we could just get those in the north to think (militarily) like they do in the south.

isnt it very intresting that the former communist states having endured the heel & tyranny of Communism are the most ardent fighters & defending in the War On Terror!!
Meanwhile our own homegrown Commies & Socialists has been the staunchest ENEMY of BUSH in the W.O.T. and has vowed to Cut & Run as soon as possible in Iraq.

Interesting. Romanians are good neighbours to us Serbians.
But Romania gets aplause for keeping troops in Iraq, and Serbia for fighting islam for past 15 years gets crap from USA.
And we still do. Both, fighting Islam and getting crap from USA.
