President Bush greets passersby as he walks from Hanoi's Presidential Palace Friday to the Office of the Government where he met with Viet Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

President and Mrs. Bush join President Nguyen Minh Triet and Mrs. Tran Thi Kim Chi in the Great Hall of the Presidential Palace Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, after arriving in Hanoi. (That's a huge bust of Ho Chi Minh in the backround.)

President Bush stands with Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung at the Office of the Government Cabinet Room Friday. Vietnam's government structure is common throughout much of the world: a president who fills the ceremonial head of state role and a prime minister who holds the real executive power. The man in this photo with GWB is the real power in Vietnam.
