My town had a "Support our Troops" fundraiser tonight. The group in my town sends out tons of mail and packages to our troops where ever they are. It was quite an event...sold out . There were Vets from WWII to Iraq and they were all cheered and thanked. At the end of the night, everyone got in a circle and sang "God Bless The USA". Not a dry eye in the house!!!When the Iraq and Viet Nam Vets were introduced, they got the loudest cheers!
What antiwar protest?

Sounds wonderful! We are not to far down the road from Ft Hood, and go there on occasion to shop..I took my grandson with me one day and we went to one of the fast food places on base..He could not get over seeing so many men and women in uniform..He said WOW Nana there are army guys all over the place here...then he told me that is what I want to be when I grow up..Not one of these young people we saw looked unhappy..As a matter a fact I talked to one of the service guys and he said he was leaving the next week to go back to Iraq..and he was happy about it..i won't go into the whole conversation I had with him, but what stuck out in my mind was what he said last..Our job is not done there yet and we can't leave those Iraqi people yet..they will be slaughters if we go..Now how many news paper will print that story..NONE!
