Hmmmm. The shoe fits pretty well. Mine call themselves 'true pacifists'. I once asked one of them 'if a man were assaulting your daughter, wouldn't you try to kill him?' and she said 'no'. I then said, 'Gosh, then I hope I'm around if any man ever tries to assault her'. I would not hesitate to protect my loved ones.
Oh, so true, so true. Cal might add that this is also the doctrine of the safe. Most of who are so privileged, they've never had to lift a finger for the freedoms they enjoy. In this make-believe world they are "brave" for speaking out in a free society. In that same make-believe world, these privileged ones can continue to believe they are the ones who protect our freedoms, and it has nothing to do with having one of the most powerful militaries in the world.
The answer seems so obvious that you will most likely believe I'm "splitting hairs" here.
If I witnessed a physical attack on any of my children, who are all adults now, I would do anything in my power to stop the attack, including killing the attacker, if that was the result. If a daughter told me her husband/boyfriend/whoever was physically assaulting her, I would demand she put this scumbag out of her life, pronto. I would not blow his head off his body.
What good would I be to her or anyone if I'm residing on death row, for instance? As long as I'm capable to provide it, she will always have a safe home, with me.
