Awful lot of wishful spin in this article. Did he score lower than Gore? Sure but he still got 62% of the vote in his homestate in the 04 Presidential election and 81% in the 02 race (granted it was against a libretarian). His last close election was against William Weld and he still won by 8%. And the State has gotten more blue since then. The chances of us taking a Senate seat in Mass are slim to none. Particularly with a candidate with no track record whatsoever. Scary and the Swimmer are essentially Senators for life.
