Good read. He doesn't think much of Eisenhower! Wish he'd factored in the problem of domestic politics forcing ineffectual halfway measures. Although we sometimes have just plain been mistaken, most if not all our foreign policy failures, realist or otherwise, can be traced back to divisive catfighting in Washington egged on by the scurrilous headline hungry "news" media.</p>

Good article. I think the ISG report was a stall tactic to keep the terrorists guessing as plans were made and concluded for the surge. As much as the terrorists use MSM they too are reliant on it.
