I've never seen him the same way after hearing him talk about riding in a bomber over WWII europe. He said he fired the gun when the bomber came under attack but didn't try to aim at anything.
How nice of him to spare some Nazi. Either he's too stupid to understand the concept of "kill or be killed," or he just doesn't give a rat's patoot. Maybe both.
