The resolution offered by the gentleman from Ohio reads sensibly. It alleges crimes high and low, misdemeanors galore - all of them representing an effort to mislead the American people and take them into war. It is Dennis Kucinich's articles of impeachment, directed at Dick Cheney. The vice president will, of course, deny he's a liar. As long as Kucinich is at it, add that to the articles.
The congressman's case is persuasive, although his remedy may be too radical. He calls for Cheney to be impeached by the House and tried by the Senate, just as Bill Clinton was for what turned out to be neither a high crime nor much of a misdemeanor. What was it, anyway, compared to more than 3,300 American dead?
In his articles of impeachment, Kucinich details the many statements Cheney made that turned out to be factually wrong. For instance, he quotes Cheney as saying, "We know they [the Iraqis] have biological and chemical weapons," which of course, they didn't. Still, that was excusable since it was early in the game and little contradictory evidence was being presented. As Condi Rice said Sunday, "When George [Tenet] said 'slam dunk,' everybody understood that he believed that the intelligence was strong. We all believed the intelligence was strong."

Er, he was impeached for perjury and obstruction of juistice. Which are more than misdemeanors. They're felonies.

I’m sure the Founding Fathers would have considered saying things to Tim Russert that weren’t true to be an impeachable offense.
Of course, Kucinich never saw that information. No responsible official would let a person like Kucinich anywhere near secret or sensitive information. He just can’t be trusted.
They didn't? We did not find much as far as nukes, but chemical weapons, yes.

Maybe we should impeach Kucinich for lying.
I guess we have all been lied to since 1998 when the first resolution to oust Saddam Hussien was voted on and passed. Voting on something and actually doing something about it are two different things in my opinion. Clinton was all talk, Bush at least followed through and quit swatting at the flies. I think I’ll send a letter to Munchkin man and tell him to go Cheney himself.
The Republicans should support this immediately.
Let’s get the House clogged up with impeachment hearings that will make them look silly and keep Congress from doing anything else.
I wouldn’t let Kucinich near my dog
We should also impeach Kucinich for being a card carrying communist.
Actually, Kucinich would have a better chance at making a slam dunk.
Dan...is that you?
I honestly don’t know which is less credible. Kucinich, or Richard Cohen.
What does Clinton’s impeachment have to do with the current situation?
Is part of what we’re seeing an attempt to get even for Clinton’s impeachment?
Is it possible to impeach a “Vice” President?
Confucious says: “Everybody has a perfect right to make a fool of themself, it is best not to stand in their way!”
Sue him for slander.
Of course it is a chance to “get even”. Clinton’s impeachment trial for perjury was a bad move, there was a whole lot more to go after.
Even if there had been no Iraq war, there would still be a push for impeachment. It will soon become a standard way of operation.
“Is it possible to impeach a Vice President?”
It is possible to impeach *any* member of the civil government.
Article II Section. 4.
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
All of it is - did you not know that?
Kucinich is what happens when little boys are allowed to play with dolls.
