Couple of points about that thread:
First, I understand where JimRob is coming from. He sees the RINOs as compromising too much with the dems and taking our party leftward, and to that I'd agree. Still, I hate to see a trap set for those FReepers to get caught up in.
You don't have to agree with JimRob on every issue, but you cannot debate him when his mind is made up. So why bother? What I hate most about those threads is all the sycophants that come on and cheer and shout agreement with JimRob as if to get brownie points. There is no reasoned discourse at that point. They'll collectively work to get those who disagree angry and then banned.
This happened a couple of years ago on the famous Rudy Giuliani thread and we lost several great Sunday Morning Thread posters like Pukin Dog, for one.
While you might vehemently disagree with someone, it's sad to see them get banned. Cedric was a problem more than once on this thread and not a nice person from time to time. Still, I've had many a FReepmail conversation with him and lately he was trying to stop that behavior. Still, I can see how he was asking for it last night.
