Might never happen. Blacks made up 19.3% of the U.S. population in 1790. They only make up 13% now.

Blacks will never be forty percent of the population. Blacks in America have a lower birth rate than whites. They have a negative birth rate at 1.86. Whites hovers around 2. Still a declining birth rate, but they already constitute 64% - 73% of the population depending on whether they count ‘Hispanics’ that are really white. Blacks are 12% of the population and FALLING. FAST.

The largest increasing segment of the population is White/Hispanics. Think light skinned Venezuelan, Cuban, Brazilian, not the mestizos or native Indians, the European ones, like the pope.He is Argentinian, but he is 100% Italian in ancestry. etc..

Agreed, the Hispanic population will take over. Funny, how Obama’s amnesty really has a negative effect on the African American population. One day the black man will wake up and be ruled by an Hispanic.

Blacks had dropped to 14.1% of the population by 1860 (slaves were 12.6% of the total population). The percentage dropped between 1860 and 1914 because of large-scale immigration, mostly from Europe.

In 1790 there were about 700,000 slaves and 60,000 free persons of color. By 1860 those figures had grown to just under 4 million slaves and just under half a million free persons of color. So the free black population was growing at a faster rate than the slave population.
