It thirsts and burns for distinction; and if possible, it will have it, whether at the expense of emancipating slaves or enslaving freemen...
Expense of emancipating slaves, huh?
Hypocrisy, thy name is Lincoln.
Holier than though, hypocrite ####.
Lincoln was not a hypocrite. He hated slavery and he freed the slaves. Have you read the Lincoln Douglas debates or seen a re-enactment? Lincoln also hated war and seeing the nation torn apart, and when the decision was his to make, he was very conflicted and torn. Nonetheless, this man who hated slavery issued the emancipation proclamation and ended slavery.
Thus, there is no hypocrisy, just great mental anguish because of the cost to the nation.
(It is interesting to note that the elitist snobs of Lincoln’s day hated him as much as the elitist snobs of today hate Trump.)
All Men Are Created Equal
I shall not pick nits on a man that acts upon that Principle.
