I’ll take the self check lane anytime (unless a cashier is cute - increasingly rare).
Maybe not PC but I relate.
1. You end up behind someone who has no idea how to operate the thing, and then you have to wait for help to arrive for them.
2. You have people ahead of you who can't figure out how to straighten out or wipe off the price code bars so they can be read, and thus waste your time.
3. You have people ahead of you who don't have enough money to pay for their stuff and then you have to wait for help to arrive.
4. You have food stamp recipients ahead of you (usually buying stuff YOU couldn't afford) and they are trying to buy stuff not covered by food stamps. BTW, these are usually well dressed people who drive nice cars.
I do self check outs because they are faster.
I like to stand in line and read Free Republic during my wait.
Not me. I will only check out myself when they start paying me to do so. This could take the form of discounts or store credit. But i will not do it for free.
I never use self checkout, the bag boy sucks.

Perfectly expressed in one sentence!
My thoughts exactly.
(I think WallyWorld puts these slow ones in place so we complain less about doing our own checkout work!)
