(NewsNation) — There has been an overwhelming influx of migrants crossing over the border into El Paso, Texas, and just over 5,700 migrants remained in Border Patrol custody Wednesday morning, according to the city’s dashboard.
However, El Paso residents told NewsNation that they aren’t too worried about self-surrendering migrants, but rather concerned about migrants who try to evade the law.
The U.S. Border Patrol’s acting El Paso Sector Chief Peter Jaquez said there have been, on average, about 2,400 daily migrant encounters involving people crossing into the area over the past weekend.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas visited El Paso on Tuesday to assess the situation.
During his visit, Mayorkas said the administration is talking with the Mexican government but declined to go into detail, the El Paso Times reported.

Have a town hall meeting at the football stadium on the UTEP campus. It’ll be open. Fill it up. As each person enters have them say who they voted for in the 2020 Presidential Election and any state level elections then and in 2022.
And then, next week, when Title 42 ends and those that were scheduled for elective surgery or care for a non-life threatening condition are told that there is no more room at the hospital, ask them again who they voted for.
And the week after that, when the surge of 3rd world savages increases and their city starts looking like the set of Escape From NY and serious surgeries and treatments are delayed, ask them again, who they voted for.
This invasion is hard to see on tv with the lines... thousands.. they keep coming .. we are leaderless and this will not bode well for this country.
Who is doing this? who is letting this happen? If it’s biden, he has no sense nor vision...get him out.

Our medical system is swamped here in Arizona by illegals. The ERs are overwhelmed. If you go, the only way to get in without waiting 12 hours is to go by ambulance.
The illegals are walking the streets here until they can find a bicycle to steal. Then they are riding around looking for open garage doors.
Just think how bad it is going to get when the hobbit becomes governor and re-opens the gaps in the fence coupled with rescinding title 42.

A mystery chain link fence has suddenly appeared at the southern border on the Rio Grande in El Paso.
According to Bill Melugin, he doesn’t know whether DHS did it or the city of El Paso.
