Henry Fonda was a hard core liberal at a time when being "liberal" was primarily a theoretical philosophy. There was little empirical evidence to support the cause.

I always thought the only reason she wasn’t brought up on charges was that Henry Fonda was a national icon and they just didn’t have the heart to do it to him. Jane Fonda has lived the life of A classic example of A person with no self worth who attaches themselves to radical causes to feel good about themselves. Unfortunately she caused lot of misery. I still remember her mealy mouthed BS apology to the Viet Nam vets.
