Federal manhunt underway for man who was Larry Hogan's chief of staff

A federal manhunt is underway for Roy McGrath, once the chief of staff to ex-Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, after he failed to appear in court Monday for the first day of his trial on wire fraud and embezzlement charges.

[snip]

A law enforcement source tells CBS News that McGrath's family was at his home in Florida when FBI visited the house Tuesday morning. The source said his high profile and the widely circulating photos will make it difficult for him to remain at large.

McGrath, 53, has been living in Naples, Florida, and was supposed to travel to Maryland for the trial, according to court records. It's possible Hogan could testify in the trial. He was Maryland's governor from 2015 until earlier this year; he has denied knowing about or approving McGrath's severance payment.

McGrath has pleaded not guilty on all charges. His attorney, Joseph Murtha, said he doesn't know where his client is.

I guess this is why Hogan quietly bowed out of the 2024 race.

...and Hogan was CONVINCED that he could take down Trump. LOL. Now we know why he dropped out of the race.

Interesting too, how the media had SPIKED this story, until the clown fled, as Hogan was VERY VALUABLE to them in attacking Trump.

What else are they spiking?

I thought the same thing.

Don’t white collar criminals typically have it somewhat easier ? He won’t be thrown in a J6 dungeon will he ?

He’s probably afraid of getting bumped off by criminals associated with Hogan’s chicanery.

Re Roy’s photo: He vaguely reminds me of Rick Moranis, the actor who played Sigourney Weaver’s neighbor in Ghostbusters I.

Ok, I read this article.

The guy arranged a nice severance package, $233,648 for himself as he left to join Hogan. He told everyone that Hogan knew about and and okayed it.

Take your lumps guy

“He’s probably afraid of getting bumped off by criminals associated with Hogan’s chicanery.”

The way bribery works in the political world today is someone wants something from a politician, they ask for it and the deal is handled by a personal aide. The aide handles all the details, and the politician has plausible deniability. Typically, the bribe is brokered through a third party. The aide has a contact with, say, a publishing company. The bribe payer pays the publisher to give a book contract to the politician. The publisher gets a rake-off.
Think “It takes a village.” It’s all totally legal. Obviously, something has gone wrong here. Here’s the issue. This guy is like Jeffrey Epstein. He knows too much and might cut a deal for better treatment. He ran off on his own, in which case he’ll be back in custody shortly. Or he is already dead. Nobody in politics wants another Epstein debacle. If the body is found it will be obvious he committed suicide, complete with note. If it isn’t then they hired a real professional.
