Then Netanyahu should call Joe's bluff. He's probably doing that anyway.

Israel is now a economic powerhouse. They need to make their own ammo. And stockpile American ammo, they won't depend on it but use it for reserve.

Then future American Presidents can't try to coerce Israel in acting against her own interests.

“ They need to make their own ammo.”

IMI makes some fine 5.56mm ammunition. Enough, in fact, to sell it here.

Having worked for Israel’s equivalent of GE I can attest that Israel does not need anything the US gives it. They produce everything they need domestically with the exception of some high-ticket items. This little tiff will be overcome by the next presidency, or in a backroom deal and they’ll be back to getting American planes. The cost to the US of forcing them to buy from, say, France, would be too high. The reason US planes are relatively cheap is we build so many of them. Cut down the number by even a few and the price charged to our military would skyrocket. Biden is making political noise, but it won’t mean squat in terms of sales in the long run. Can you imagine if a bunch of senators and representatives find out a Biden policy is costing their states and districts jobs and, thus, votes?
