All those Russian propaganda efforts over the last few months to stop the Ukraine aid, all for nothing

Nice to see that monster Putin angry and frustrated

Most likely it’ll be something different and most likely worse that Afghanistan or Vietnam but one this is for certain more blood will be shed more young lives will lost and destroyed just so those in power can assert their power over others.

Russia is willing to fight an existential war to keep Ukraine as a vassal state.

Who is willing to fight an existential war against them?

It’s not over yet. There will be many more requests for money before the war is over. And when it ends, biden will send them 50 billion plus or minus a few billion to rebuild.

"This is Russia trying to bait us to send troops?"

Haven't you heard? Biden's White House has already said they may have to send more ground troops in the guise of "advisers." It will be Vietnam all over again. We've been fighting proxy wars with Russia and China since the Korean War. RATS and Repukes say why stop now?

I think we should send troops, and we should start with the blood relatives between 17-35 of every last Federal Employee, NO EXCEPTIONS, give them a few weeks training and send them straight to the Front Lines in Ukraine. The WAR will end in days of their arrival.

Nam, where the US won militarily, but lost due to radical anti-war protests.

U.S. Spent $141‐Billion In Vietnam in 14 Years

https://www.nytimes.com/1975/05/01/archives/us-spent-141billion-in-vietnam-in-14-years.html

That would be around $640 billion in todays dollars.

“Ukraine will be America’s next Vietnam”

That’s been obvious for quite a while.

Vlad is close to his stated objectives from the very first day. Define winning.

What is now clear:
1) Vlad is never giving up Crimea and the five ethnic Russian provinces, ever.
2) Ukraine, without NATO intervention, is unable to take back Crimea, the five ethnic Russian provinces and simply does not have the manpower to re-occupy them.

“ Winning” is two things.
1) the Winner is the one who loses the least..
2) the Winner is also the one who accomplishes their stated goals.

By this logic, Vlad is clearly “ winning”. .

But, on the bright side, Biden, many Senators and several Congresspersons will be a lot richer, with the kickbacks they receive from Zelensky.

Ukraine ping

[This is Russia trying to bait us to send troops?]

This is Russia with its ankle caught in a bear trap trying to convince its occasionally mutinous troops that, any day now, defeat is at hand for the US. The funny thing is that in Vietnam, thousands of Russian troops were on the ground in the North to deter a US invasion.

https://www.rbth.com/history/332396-how-soviets-fought-against-americans

And it’s Russian troops in Ukraine who are sustaining the first real damage they have taken since they went after separatist Chechens decades ago. The larger goal is probably to intimidate Americans, while also giving Putin an out if he decides to pack it in. While shameful to lose to Ukraine, it’s no disgrace to lose to the US.

Russia's advance along the rail line has entered Ocheretyne. With Semenivka also contested and Pervomais’ke captured, Ukraine's two-month-held fallback line is compromised. Expect a gradual withdrawal to defences behind the Vovcha River and its reservoirs.

Ukraine has little or no air defense. How are we going to get whatever is purchased and supplied to the battlefield?

Also, this money can't go to developing new systems which would take too long to arrive. Instead it will be going to manufacture legacy systems which the Russians may have developed countermeasures for. There are increasing reports of waves of Ukrainians surrendering. Others are being decimated by glide bombs.

Who will be left to operate these weapons?

Kinda funny since the US has no troops fighting and Putin’s putative week-long “Special Military Operation” is going into its third year.
