Rabid eco-freaks will ruin civilization in order to save it. Oxymorons all of them. Natural gas is clean and plentiful. Coal should probably be phased out, but not before something can take its place efficiently and economically.

Rabid eco-freaks will ruin civilization in order to save it.

They don't want to SAVE it.

Never forget that the whole "CO2 global warming" meme is a false crisis, invented out of thin air by the neo-malthusian Club of Rome as a tool to force a 90% die-off of human populations by suppressing Western European culture and technology. Human suffering is irrelevent.. Ultimately, YOU are the carbon they want to reduce.

Meanwhile, trust the climate oligarchs to find private profit in public policy.

I don’t think coal needs to be phased out. They judge need to clean up the plants. If you can have a double burn wood furnace, why can’t they make double burn coal plants?

There is value in coal ash, the least of which is a source of graphene.

In addition to being a fuel, coal is also a feedstock for many chemicals. These are used in every from plastics to pharmaceuticals. Get rid of these, and we’re back to the Middle Ages.

"...but not before something can take its place efficiently and economically....."

Nuclear.

The rest of the "First" world seems to get this, except the country that essentially pioneered and invented nuclear power.

Our government is a ship of fools.

The freaks are not interested in saving civilization. The losers are out for some form of twisted revenge.

Welcome to FR.

I don’t think coal should be phased out just yet. It’s my understanding that with the scrubbers, that coal is not that bad. It certainly would be better than no electricity in the middle of winter. How about doing this ...set it up so people can sue the pants off the Biden administration, even after he is out of office, if there is a damaging energy disruption at any time of the year that is due to insufficient supply of said energy? That should make them sit up & take notice of the potential damage they are doing to our country.

So, you personally going to take full responsibility for killing the coal industry all by yourself. I believe that is called putting a target on yourself.

As to something less expensive as a replacement. There is none and very unlikely there ever will be. Man was able to discover the most plentiful and cheap energy source God made available and expects us to use it, not squander the benefit and blessing due to the insanity of man.
