"Not coincidentally, much the same can be said of those on the other side (of the protests and of the political spectrum), who showed up to various protest sites armed and ready to defend property, God, and country.

Again, whatever one thinks of Kyle Rittenhouse and his legal culpability (or lack thereof), the truth of the matter is that he was in Kenosha that night for no other reason than to burnish his personal sense of civic courage. Like the play-acting revolutionaries on the other side, he was there, more or less, in an outburst of heroic doubling.

People like (((Soukup))) denigrate proper male heroism and the admirable willingness to take personal action, and undergo great personal risk. Actually defending the communities they are from against criminal outsiders.

Instead, people like Soukup go to conferences to flog their Con Inc. books.

Then they are all surprised when no-one comes running to save them after their Ivy League Leftist former buddies turn on them.

Yes, I was upset by his dragging Kyle Rittenhouse in—how does he know what he was thinking? We can tell what the protesters are thinking by the fact that they are parroting the words of others without understanding the roots of what is being said; ie, those who don’t know what river or even what sea is meant in “From the river to the sea...”

I felt like the writer was doing a little “heroic doubling of his own in trying to be “fair” and show this is a phenomenon of both sides and using Kyle Rittenhouse as an example.

I think he would have done better to use as an example the neo-nazis. This would have shown that the phenomenon is about extremists taking heroic doubling action rather than just any young person taking some sort of action.
