The cynic in me thinks someone wasn’t getting their piece of the action and lowered the boom.
Unfortunately you did not ready that right. They were US-trained. Its an article meant to disparage the US military by association.

The cynic in me thinks that those ‘elite’ commandos were our spearhead to seizing the government in Somalia...and the existing government figured it out and came up with an excuse to lock them up.
