'Aggression against Palestine': Turkey suspends export and import operations with Israel

Turkey on Thursday suspended all export and import operations with Israel due to what it described as its "aggression against Palestine in violation of international law and human rights," the Turkish Trade Ministry announced, according to the Anadolu news agency.

"Since the first day, our country has rushed to the aid of the people of Gaza, delivered tens of thousands of tons of humanitarian aid to the region by ships and planes, especially food, health and medical aid materials, evacuated thousands of patients and stood by our Palestinian brothers and sisters in these difficult days," the ministry said.

"However, the massacre, humanitarian catastrophe and physical destruction caused by Israel continued, and the Israeli government ignored international ceasefire efforts and prevented humanitarian aid," it added.

Turkey will strictly and decisively implement these new measures until the Israeli government allows the uninterrupted and sufficient flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza, it noted.

I know it’s not a popular opinion on here but we are witnessing the beginning of the end of Zionism. Soon other countries will start boycotting Israel just like what happened with South Africa. And as far as the US goes well the ADL screwed the pooch when they pushed for that new law censoring criticism of Israel. This is totally going to blow up in their faces. I don’t thing they realize just what they’ve done yet but they will soon find out. They really need to drop this before it goes any further but I doubt they will. Their arrogance will be their downfall.

The end of zionism as you say is the beginning of something new. What do you think the new thing is?

Let’s see if that bill passes the Senate first. If it does and Biden signs it into law all hell will break loose. If you think there’s antisemitism out there now well you haven’t seen anything yet. It certainly took a lot of chutzpah for them to even attempt something like this and they are going to wind up regretting it I guarantee. That’s not to say Israel will end overnight but everything now is moving in that direction. Even a 2 state solution is questionable at this point after what has happened. How this ultimately ends is anyone’s guess but things aren’t looking good for Israel at this point. Pushing for that law was an act of desperation.

ADL screwed the pooch when they pushed for that new law censoring criticism of Israel.

The ADL was not acting as a lone wolf.

In 2015, the Israeli government called for global internet censorship: Government anti-Semitism conference endorses net censorship.

and stood by our Palestinian brothers and sisters in these difficult days

Open up some of Türkiye's land to Palestinivermin migrants, Erdogan.

I'm sure they'll be welcome - until they pull the usual Palestinivermin back-stab...

The Islamic Turkish boss has been trying to provoke an aggressive ear against Israel for years already. As he tries to create war against Greece and Cyprus.

He is dangerous. Turkey under his rule should definitely not be permitted to stay in NATO

Leftist Jews have been behind most of the censorship attempts in recent years with the hate crime laws and canceling ect. They’ve worked hard to control the narrative but are about to lose control. They are no longer viewed as some kind of oppressed minority like they want. They might still have the vast majority of politicians in their pocket but money only goes so far. Attitudes are changing.

Any humanitarian aid to Gaza is taken by Hamas and weaponized.

Jeffrey Sachs had an idea worth considering:

Ignore Israel and the Palestinians completely. The rest of the world including the US, Russia, China, etc. go in and enforce the 1967 borders decided by the UN and agreed to by much of the world's countries.

Then send in UN Blue Hats to maintain the borders and minimize violence until it withers to a smattering of individual terrorists.

There will be extremists on both sides who don't like it, but it could be a pragmatic solution that minimizes death and destruction on into the future.

Wishful thinking.

Parenthetically, there is no “new law”. It has to pass the Senate and be signed by the POTUS. Other countries have been boycotting Israel since before it was a state. Had it not been for those boycotts, we would have been that much poorer. Now Turkey doesn’t like us anymore? Thanks!

Before the war, Gaza got at maximum 75 truckloads of humanitarian aid a day. The number’s now up to 400 truckloads a day. Even with Hamas’ theft, that’s more than enough. Erdogan has to have his virtue signal. Good luck with that.

Somehow I don’t see Netanyahu giving up easily. While he has little support in Israel now much of the population there sees things the same way he does. They want the Arabs cleaned out from Gaza and the West Bank. Will a new leader be any more amenable to compromise? It would require serious pressure from the US but politically the US isn’t there yet. But our support for Israel is working against US interests from an international perspective so eventually something will have to be done.

The above calls for censorship came from members of Netanyahu’s government.

If something like Sachs suggested could work, then it would be like the way Kosovo was separated out from Serbia.

The world would create a temporary unified army like what was done in the Gulf Wars. They would then give Israel an edict to evict all the Israeli settlers from the West Bank and East Jerusalem by a set time.

If the Israelis failed to act in time, then the army would go in and enforce the 1967 borders, then leave the UN forces to manage and maintain the borders and order.

It wouldn't be pretty, and there could be some death and destruction during the process, but it could be the best solution over the long run.

There are only three other possible solutions that I can see:

1) Status Quo: Endless series of tit-for-tat assaults
2) Israel/Palestine Cage Match: No outside countries allowed to assist. Whoever wins, gets everything.
3) WWIII

True it hasn’t been passed yet. But our idiot politicians are so corrupt it wouldn’t surprise me if it is passed. Jonathon Greenblatt isn’t thinking too clearly. He might win the battle in this one but then wind up losing the war because of it. As much as they pay the director of the ADL you would have thought they would have picked somebody smarter. Him and Netanyahu will go down in Jewish history as the ones who screwed everything up.

It would surprise me if it wasn’t ruled unconstitutional from the getgo. It is a stupid law, but stupid laws are enacted all the time. Insufficient grounds for a Jeremiad.
