Republicans See Warning Signs for Trump in Southern Battleground State

President Donald Trump’s national polling advantage has narrowed to less than one percent since he became the presumptive Republican nominee in the race for the White House.

In two Southern battlegrounds, Georgia and North Carolina, his lead looks stronger at five-and-a-half points and six points, respectively.

But can the region be written off as solidly Trump? The answer isn’t so obvious in key cities, counties, and polling places....

On the ground, conservatives sense weakness.

“Republicans have got to organize the grassroots to the same level [as] the Democrats,” a local GOP insider told The Epoch Times.

That sentiment was echoed by every Republican and conservative from the area who spoke with The Epoch Times.

Some also worried the RNC isn’t spending enough, even after Michael Whatley, former chair of the North Carolina GOP, took over the national party from Ronna McDaniel.

vast fortunes are just part of the story. There’s also a lot of legwork by motivated liberals and Democrats.

Indivisible Charlotte’s webpage showcases numerous events in late April and early May: canvassing, postcard writing, even Taco Tuesdays. The group is just one grassroots organization among many. Pastor Leon Threatt, a member of Matthews’ Board of Commissioners who has previously run for office as a Republican, told The Epoch Times that local Democrats “operate far more as activists than the Republicans.”

Rallies of the committee faithful aren't going to cut it. Anyone telling Trump they will is giving him very bad advice. They need to be focusing like a laser on ground game and turnout.

That's on Lara Trump now. They don't have Ronna McDaniel to hide behind anymore.

Trump is plus 10 in North Carolina and Georgia just passed laws to stop the cheat.

Your long fancy title means nothing.
Go away and try something else next - something a bit more believable like “Trump might have trouble winning Virginia and New Mexico.

Well, the same election crooks are still running things in Georgia, so, yeah Trump should not count on winning there.

Don’t you think Robinson is going to win the governor’s race in NC?

Sorta doubt voters are going to split the ticket enough to make a difference.

Trump is at a serious disadvantage.

Biden and the Democrats, with the help of a bureaucracy highly favorable to them, have essentially hamstrung Trump’s ability to campaign.

—In 2019 they used Covid. Covid is what did Trump in, taking away is biggest advantage, the economy.

—In 2024 they use the courts.

Forget the negative press and BS accusations against Trump. That’s secondary.

The real problem is that Trump can’t be out there shaking hands, giving speeches, filling entire stadiums and getting folks fired up.

Personally, I find this so revolting (abusing the law and courts to go after a political opponent) that this alone would make me vote for Trump.

“A sudden spate of negative psy-ops from the left. Oh woe is us.”

Get used to it. This will be A DAILY OCCURRENCE between now and the election. It has been for a while.

Battleground in Georgia and North Carolina.

Don’t blame Pres Trump

Blame squarely land in the laps of all the RINO/Chamber of Commerce/CountryClub/UNIPARTY “Republicans” and ridiculous development authorities that have been selling out both states for the last 20-30 years, at least.

Battlegrounds happen when you a POS RINO but you’re jumping for joy when your state is inundated with liberals.

I wouldn't exactly lump The Epoch Times as belonging to the liberal outlet sect, or even close to being a liberal outlet.

Instead, I think this is more of a warning to not get complacent about Trump having a cake-walk here.

That's my take on it at any rate.

Hopefully, there will be millions more like you in November.

the huge Trump rallies are wonderful and very helpful
but
getting votes cast
AND
blocking the DemoNaziCommie Election Theft Machine

are vital for victory!

and in all the states which allow early mail voting, it is definitely NOT too early to start going after those votes now

What a deceptive headline...

"Trump is ahead 5 or 6 points... but some people on the ground have doubts..."

I'm not the biggest fan of Trump. But I'm voting for him like you said.

Trump doesn’t need retail politics. Just look at the NJ rally.

No one should be confident about Georgia. Raffensberger wants Ranked Choice Voting and to do away with runoffs. So whoever gets the most, even if it’s not near 50+1%, they win anyway.

Raffensberger won’t cooperate with anyone that is looking into all the crap that went on in ‘20 and ‘22

And the only kemp signs stuff because he’s on the ropes politically. He me be liked by the RINO/Corporate Republicans here, but he’s not liked by the grassroots folks here.
