Atheist author Richard Dawkins described himself as a "cultural Christian" and lamented the faith's waning cultural influence in Europe, though he still derided its key tenets as "nonsense," during an interview on Easter Sunday.

If Christianity is “nonsense”, then why does it produce a culture you prefer?

The British, and the American Founding Fathers were big on Natural Law, which was bound to the Creator. And while America has religious freedom and allows Islam, the Founders had Christianity in mind when forming this nation and laws. Hmm - I wonder what the Founding Fathers would have said if mosques started sprouting up in every city in America? In the Adam's letter linked below he lists off all of the Christian denominations present at the Constitutional Convention, and also atheists, and is proud of all of them. No muslims mentioned though....

Declaration if Independence:

“....and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them...

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness....”

John Adams:

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
