Tea Party favorite Sarah Palin gave the strongest indication yet that she is preparing a 2012 White House bid, saying Thursday she would run for president "if there is nobody else to do it."

The former Republican vice presidential candidate, who was lampooned in the media for her political naivety in the hard-fought final weeks of the 2008 campaign, is now among the most popular conservative politicians in America.

Palin, who left office midway through her first term in office as governor of Alaska, told Entertainment Tonight it would take someone willing "to make the tough choices and not care what the critics are going to say about you.

"It's going to entail a discussion with my family (and) a real close look at the lay of the land, to consider whether there are those with that common sense, conservative, pro-Constitution passion.

"If there's nobody else to do it, then of course I would believe that we should do this," she told the TV show, a Hollywood publicity machine, in an interview from her home in Wasilla, Alaska.

The 45-year-old mother of five was little known nationally until she burst onto the political scene when Arizona senator John McCain chose her as his shock running mate in August 2008.

Palin announced in July 2009 that she was resigning as Alaska governor, 18 months before completing her first term, providing a puzzling explanation that it was due to frivolous ethics complaints against her...

Have you ever considered the possibility of opening a “Snowy White House North” in Alaska? After all, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt transformed the Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Honolulu into a “Western White House” to manage better the war against the enemy Japan. Surely some remote fishing camp on the frozen Bering Sea might provide the perfect venue for an encounter with Democrats.

“How does a Democrat win without that [black] voting bloc?”

11-20,000,000 Mexicans (formally known as illegal aliens) would decide the race in her favor.

True, if they ALL voted Democrat. That isn’t what’s happening this year (2010) so why would it two years from now?

Versus a fraud who goes down in the polls by the minute? By 2012, you or I could beat Mr. Obama.

Because they will be so grateful to the dems for granting them amnesty. The majority of Latinos, especially Mexicans, are voting dem this year, 2020. I think I read that it was 80+%.

Thank you Captain Obvious. I'll say it for about the 1000th time now here on FR since I can't even remember when. Palin will run. Palin will win. Palin will be our next President.

In other news...the sun has a very good chance of rising in the East toward morning!

You wonder why in the hell she would let Entertainment Tonight get an interview with her. They are a low-class trash show that has spent innumerable time in trashing her and having Levi on and nonstop attacks on her. Just why in the hell isn’t she aware of this and giving them any acknowledgment. This ticks me off along with her appearing on Oprah.

Unfortunately, Americans watch more ET, Daily Show, Idol, Dancing with Stars...than they do pundit and political shows.

In fact, elections are decided by these people... Independents, the squishy middle, whatever....
