DODGE CITY, Kan. (AP) -- Dodge City has a rich history as an Old West frontier town, where cowboys and gunslingers could take a break from the trail and get their fill of saloons and brothels. Today, the tidy town built on meatpacking and rodeos is again plagued by gunfighters. But this time, they're in street gangs, some of which have second-generation members as young as 11. The drug of choice is methamphetamine, and the weapons range from automatic rifles to baseball bats.

Boot Hill's still there at Dodge.
Or it was the last time I was through the town.
I was there this summer, and the people at the Museum and "The Long Branch Saloon" complex said that the original Boot Hill was located about 1/4 mile away.
They do have a "Boot Hill Cemetary" but it was constructed as part of the Museum.
Take it for whatever it's worth ...
Another tidbit of trivia they offered is that they (Dodge City) has something like 10,000 semi trucks coming and going every day. Part of the cattle industry, I suppose...
