Phillips 66 Owner Dean Yee was not going to make it easy for the two men he says tried to rob him at gunpoint Friday. “They demanded money and to make things tougher I said I'm not gonna give you the money you can come around here and get it yourself.”

That's when a customer in the store, and valid conceal to carry permit holder in Oklahoma, took action.

This is the first CCH incident in Kansas. It was an Oklahoma CCH holder instead of a Kansas one. Good shooting neighbor ... !

After fourteen years of trying to pass the Conceal Carry law in Kansas, State Senator Phill Journey says Friday’s incident is a prime example of where the new law could help society. It is absolutely going to be seen as more permit holders are out there. I think its important that criminals need to be on notice that this will happen to them.”

The title on this article doesn't match the facts. Should read "Store Owner Lucky CCH Is The Law".

Agreed, but what do you expect from a liberal news outlet? I was so suprised that they even covered it this way instead of saying, "It was like a Dodge City shotout in the streets of Topeka".

Good story...despite horrible writing, spelling and punctuation on the part of Meagan Farley/web editor.

That's when Yee's friend, a customer in the store, and valid conceal to carry permit holder in Oklahoma, took action.

“My friend got their attention. One of the robbers looked at my friend and pointed his gun at him. My friend's life was then in danger and he exercised his right and shot the robber,” said Yee.

Better hope that new state attorney general Paul Morrison doesn't go nosing around this case. Might be ok, though, if no one from the anti gun lobby has contributed to his campaign.

Someone has to ask. What's a buell x1-1200? Can I use it on my lawn, or does it need at least a quarter section in which to turn?

Buell X1 Lightning. Better on asphalt than on grass.

I guess!

Looks like it would take the distance to the CO line down to about 5 1/2 hrs depending on how many state troopers you meet.

(Still have to ask. Does it have a power take off?)

Well, at heart, it is a Harley so I'm sure you could rig a PT off the transmission output sprocket on the right side. d8^)

Here's mine

Wish I could ride more often, haven't cranked it over since October, 2006.

Nifty. Probably have to get a heavy duty double sided kickstand too if you're going to put a PT on it. Else I doubt it would stand still long once you torque it up to power your grain auger.

On second thought maybe its better to stick with your Deere
for the PT, and save your Buell for I-70 and that long straightaway high speed burn. No point in agitating the neighbors every time you kick her over and fill the silo.

(*Nice bike*!)

(Or you could use it to power the winch on your vega!)

I'm missing something here.

If KS doesn't yet have a CCW law then how is it the Oklahoma resident isn't in violation of KS law when he carried over state lines?

What don't I understand?

Oh, they have as well. Abortion, anti-gun, pro-illegal alien groups, anti-business trial lawyers assn., pro-early release for felons, etc. You name them, they are all supporting Morrision.

KS passed CCW/CCL/CHL back in early 2006. The law went into effect July 1, 2006 and permits were issued to KS residents 1/3/2007. Reciprocity recognizes the Oklahoma permits and that came out in mid-January, 2007.

We will see the Tiller case backburnered and ignored until people stop asking.

I remember the House banking scandal? Something like 120 congressmen--mostly Democrats--under investigation? Clinton gets elected, all the lawyers in the AG office fired, and you never hear another work about the investigation. Lost in all the other noise.

Why don't you blog, write or call The Kansas City Scar, oops Star and ask this question - How many of the AG office staff of lawyers, investigators, etc. has Paul Morrision let go, or is it only important how many staff (one hired TWO DAYS before he took office) that Phill Kline let go, or is it only "news" how many people who lost jobs under Kline but not Morrison?
