PORTLAND, Ore. — Several individuals dressed in all black with their faces covered attempted to keep a KATU camera crew from recording the events unfolding downtown Friday night after the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office declared a gathering of people a riot.
The individuals demanded the crew stop recording.
The group then attacked the KATU camera operator when the crew asserted their right to record in a public space. A confrontation occurred between the individuals and the TV station's security guards.
The KATU crew was uninjured but the camera was damaged.
Portland police said deputies declared the riot when people started damaging a gate to the detention center.
Police said people near the Justice Center at Southwest 2nd Avenue and Madison Street broke windows and damaged doors at city buildings.
Police said people threw rocks at officers.
Officers ordered people to leave the area and told them if they didn't, they could be subjected to pepper spray, impact munitions, detained, arrested or cited. A group of people remained downtown, however.

Why wouldn’t they riot? They’ve gotten away with it every time.
The camera was damaged. When Antifa says KATU is not going to record them, they are not going to record. But the police did issue a comment on FB. Skeered Antifa, I’ll bet.
Antifa and their comrades are nothing more than Company Men getting their marching orders to put down freedom loving people.

No, like it or not, having the press there at least gives people some chance of seeing what’s going on. The press may censor it, but somewhere the truth in visual form exists and can be recovered... as we saw in the Rittenhouse trial, where the media attempts at manipulation of the evidence was all debunked.
But if nobody from the press records or shows it, it disappears from public consciousness. Notice how there’s no reporting or official recording of the huge anti-lockdown protests in Europe and Australia. Two protesters were even shot by the police in Rotterdam last night. Silence and no photos.
The only information comes through people’s cell phone videos on their Twitter feeds - until they get taken down.
So no, you don’t want to drive out the press.

It sounds like there were no arrests despite numerous crimes: multiple acts of property damage, assaults on police, assaults on the camera crew, and damage to the camera. And what was the left saying about white conservatives being “privileged” - being able to get away with anything - just hours earlier?
