Good evening, lightman, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
And a blessed Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost (Western)/Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost (Orthodox).
Good evening, luvie, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Thanks for the hymns.
Stay cool as best you can.
Bible in a Year:
The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.
Does that resonate? Seeking open spaces is something Moses lived out well. Leading a nation of “stubborn and rebellious” people (Exodus 33:5 nlt), he often withdrew to find rest and guidance in God’s presence. And in his “tent of meeting” (v. 7), “the Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend” (v. 11). Jesus also “often withdrew to lonely places and prayed” (Luke 5:16). Both He and Moses realized the importance of spending time alone with the Father.
We too need to build margin into our lives, some wide and open spaces spent in rest and in God’s presence. Spending time with Him will help us make better decisions—creating healthier margins and boundaries in our life so we have the bandwidth available to love Him and others well.
Let’s seek God in open spaces today. .
Reflect & Pray
Why do you need margin in your life? How will you build some space into your schedule to spend time with God?
Jesus, help me to seek some quiet moments with You each day.

Hey there, Kathy.
So you DID have some sunshine up there today, did you? The darn stream is still hung up and it’s cloudy at that time. I hope the clouds will behave and give you some sun time on the deck.
It was a long day, busy day, fun day at the museum. Just started too early for my vampire taste. LOL Had to get up an hour earlier than usual, and usual is already too early.
The tour group showed up at 9:30 and the guys with the Military Vehicle Preservation Assoc. started filtering in around 10:00. They were there to help rearrange a few things in the museum and helped with something out in the shop and storage buildings. Don’t know what because I never went out there. Other visitors kept us busy.
Tomorrow will be a “down” day. I won’t feel like doing much of anything but parking my hiney in this chair. LOL
Howdy, luvie.
Hope your day wasn’t too crummy due to the heat.
We had one last nice day before the nuclear blast hits for the next week. A busy day at the museum but it was a really good day.
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
Hope you and Jul are enjoying a nice quiet and restful weekend.
A Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Yes, some late afternoon sun that couldn’t seem to find my deck. Maybe tomorrow.
Glad you had a fun day, even if it was long and you had to get up extra early.
Try to stay cool. Hope you don’t have to go anywhere for a couple days.
Yesterday I took my very first bath since the surgery. We also fix ribs for supper.
Gizmo before it got hot:
I'm going to try to do KFC Pick Up Day today if everything goes as planned.
How's everyone doing this morning?
Well drat. Maybe there’ll be some sunshine tomorrow.
I’d let you have ours if I could figure out how to send it up there. No rain or clouds to give us a break for the next week. I made a store run after supper this evening so am good to go. I will make a run to get another dozen ears of corn Monday to blanch and freeze and have no other plans to go out, unless after sunset.
Until Friday when I have to head to the museum again.
It HURT getting up so early this morning - LOL - but it was worth it.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Poor Gizmo misses his romps at the lake. Not a happy face on that pooch yesterday. I hope the ribs cheered him up and that you can get some KFC to cheer him up again.
Good morning, E...((HUGS))...and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
That first bath after surgery always feels so good. Glad you are healing well.
The ribs look mighty tasty!
Good luck on your KFC run. You and Gizmo enjoy your day.
Hey there, radu!
Yeah, it was pretty hot, but not off the charts hot. “Only” got up to 101 and felt less because our humidity is hanging at about 15%. Tomorrow, more of the same. Early next week, double digits. For a change.
I am sympathizing with your dreading the heat dome moving over to your neck of the woods. Maybe it’s the fault of the hurricane in CA? Don’t know. I’m worried about our FRiends living in the path of that monster!
And now, since my show just ended, I’ll head out for realz so I don’t kill the phone in the morning. See ya tomorrow night! :)
That 15% humidity makes my skin want to shrivel up just thinking about it. LOL But it does help y’all with the horrendous temps you can get during summer.
Today started out nice but by late this afternoon, I could tell the humidity was starting to go up. It won’t get incredibly high since we have no rain in the forecast all week. But it’ll be high enough to give us dangerous heat indices. Not the first time and it won’t be the last.
I don’t know if the storm ahs any effect on the heat dome. Shifts are already starting all around. The Atlantic has been dead all summer and now it’s all fired up.
Weather happens.
Be kind to your alarm. :-)
Catch ya tomorrow.
Hai Kathy (((HUGS))) Too much smoke haze, just hung around and talked shop; staying over to avoid the weekend rush.
I have outlined the story and hope it could become a novel and/or screen play. Who knows a screenwriter? I wrote this and registered it with the writer’s guild. The story needs to be told about the 30,000 vets on the street. It is a national disgrace.
The Search for SGT Drake
Her quest began in earnest, the mission very clear
A man for whom she searched and searched she thought was very near
She’d been through all the shelters, so many in L.A.
But her sixth sense had told her that today would be the day
As she walked by the homeless, it caused her heart to break
She held a picture, very old, a man named SGT Drake
And then she saw a certain man and she gave it a try
When she showed him the picture, the man began to cry
She hugged him and she promised no more days out on the street
Then said a prayer and thanked the Lord that they could finally meet
The man, of course, was curious from where this angel came
She told him a long story and her late grandpa’s name
Another hug, while crying, she whispered in his ear
“Had you not saved my grandpa’s life, then I would not be here”
