National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said during a press briefing at the White House on Monday that the Biden administration rejects the idea that there is a genocide “happening in Gaza.”
While speaking to reporters during a press briefing, Sullivan outlined the Biden administration’s view regarding the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas and clarified that the United States supports Israel in defeating Hamas and believes Israel has a responsibility “to protect innocent civilians,” rejecting the idea that “what is happening in Gaza is a genocide.”

He’s trying to make the Jews and pro-Israel crowd happy, but also the Arab / Muslim vote and a bunch of college kids on that decided to go for the Palestinian side after the Arab side successfully blitzed the US media when Israel went into Gaza.
Defeat Hamas? Or eradicate them and their allies in Gaza (at least to the point of not being a significant threat for many years)?
Someone needs to ask Sullivan to define his terms. What does “defeat Hamas” mean? If it means anything less than “eradication” as defined above, how can we expect Israel to accept that?
If it means “eradication” of Hamas & Co. as defined above, then how on earth does Israel do that without going into Rafah much like we and the Kurds and the Iraqis took care of Mosul? (Which is still relatively stable now, I might add.)

There’s no genocide in Gaza (which is the truth), but his hot-for-Michigan boss is still embargoing arms to Israel, a nation that suffered the equivalent of about 30 9-11s on October 7.
