The Republican National Committee (RNC) appears to have little to no on-the-ground operations in key battleground states despite former President Donald Trump narrowly leading President Joe Biden, local GOP and conservative group leaders tell The Federalist. They expressed optimism, however, that the RNC will step up its efforts and suggested it’s “typical” for the RNC not to have its ground game going until about now.
Grassroots organizations are targeting key states such as Arizona, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Texas to improve “election processes at the administrative level well before Election Day,” director Josh Findlay of the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Elections Protection Project told The Federalist.
Findlay touted the groups’ “huge successes” throughout battleground states with regard to drop box security, absentee ballot procedures, observer access and absentee processing centers. But despite all the work being done on the ground to elect Republicans, the RNC doesn’t seem too involved – though grassroots leaders are hopeful that won’t be the case for long.

Yeah, we may have a repeat of that again this year. The GOP can't (refuses to?) even play defense very well.
If it's "typical" for them to not have on-the-ground operations in place by this time, and they continue to lose, maybe they should adjust their game plan.
Just the concept that a political party needs local operations on the ground. Voters don’t know how to vote? Who could that be? Dead voters, fake voters, illegal voters…. Mmmmmm. Guess the massive Democrats’ ground game makes sense….
BTTT
I for one wasn’t motivated last election cycle to help the party that continues to allow the lawlessness of the democrats to continue. I’m in the same boat now, I will vote for the man wearing the maga hat but fail to see the upside of my down ballot at this point.
What I’ve heard about Whatley at the RNC is that he’s Ronna II — that he’s there for the status and perks, but isn’t into doing actual work. That’s where Lara Trump comes in.
Don’t know if it’s true, but if it is then PDJT hasn’t learned anything about choosing personnel.
Thanks, Ronna.
They’re too busy blasting my smartphone with obnoxious text messages from hundreds of different numbers to have a ground game.
The republicans have a serious money disadvantage. Biden is flush with small donor money. Republicans have to open their wallets or they won’t have the money to do extras.
Unsurprised, but it’s not like we are voting our way out of this, anyways.
Laundering millions of American aid money through Ukraine is considered "small donor money"?
But under new leadership, including Lara Trump...
Bottom line is that Biden has a ton of money and trump is behind on fundraising. How they got there is irrelevant.
Democrats have few small donors. Those listed as donating small amounts are usually victims of smurfing. The democrats get most of their donations by laundering tax dollars through organizations such as Planned Parenthood, companies such as FTX, and assistance to foreign countries such as Ukraine. In addition, they get donations from millionaire leftists such as George Clooney and Zuckerberg.
Who’s in charge of the RNC these days?
And you Surrender Monkeys believe this is the same old RNC that really doesn’t want to win?
REALLY? You don’t see any difference between Mike Whatley/Lara Trump and McRomney- really?
“You don’t see any difference between Mike Whatley/Lara Trump and McRomney- really?”
No far, no. IIRC, Scott Presler has been brought on board, and I do have confidence in him. I hope his enthusiasm and productiveness aren’t stifled by TPTB there. On his own, he’s a powerhouse; in a team that could change. Teams dilute the effectiveness of high achievers — at least that’s what I experienced during my working years.
I’m pretty sure the RNC wants to lose.
It didn’t use to be typical not to have ground ops at least in the late 70s and 80s. I know from personal experience. When I first heard this, I concluded Trump’s campaign was not really serious about winning and was either just for show or something else. It’s disturbing. Not saying he can’t win, but wowser.
It’s more than that but absolutely in states that have legalized ballot harvesting and mail in ballots, it is suicide to not have a large and effective ground game.
The fact that the RNC is worse than useless has been known for decades. As far as the presidential election, Trump has the money and the support to field his own ground operation, and in particular he better have his own ballot harvesting operation in place if we’re to avoid a repeat of 2020.
