Thank you, all of this could have been avoided. We have to remember the earlier attack at the same place under the rule of Bill Clinton which many would rather bury from the reality. It makes ya Feeeel Better.

Rick Rescorla (from “They were soldiers once and young”) was in charge of security for one of the big firms in one of the towers. After the van attack he and a bunch of other war veterans and security guys got together to figure out how the terrorists would attack again and come up with a plan.
They all decided that the terrorists would hijack planes and fly them into the buildings. The overall building security plan for an attack was to shelter in place. Rick’s plan for his firm was to evacuate down the stairwells. He made them practice it often - ALL the way down!
On 9-11 Rick got all(?) of the employees of his firm evacuated (against the building orders to shelter in place) as well as hundreds of other people.
He was last seen running up the stairs to help others escape when the second plane hit. He was killed in the attack.
