(NEXSTAR) – New predictions for the summer season, released by NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center this week, show weather is likely to heat up in almost every corner of the United States.

The forecast, which covers June, July and August, indicates nearly every U.S. state with leaning toward a hotter-than-normal summer season. The highest chances are found out West, where Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and parts of Colorado have a 60% to 70% chance of above-average temperatures over the next three months. Several other Western states plus the Northeast are also strongly favored to see above-average heat.

The only exception to the forecast on the continental U.S. are the Dakotas and parts of Minnesota and Iowa. The section of the upper Midwest, shaded in white on the map below, has equal chances of a normal summer, hotter-than-average summer and a cooler-than-average summer

Is this climate change or warming or what?? So a hot summer has never happened before right?? All we have to do is change over to electric and ban oil and gas and we change weather right?? (SARC)

Summers have been quite mild for the past few years.

So far it's been mostly cloudy and cool here in the Northeast. I don't believe we've even hit 80 degrees yet in Boston or New York City.

Bring on the hot summer. Summers are short enough around here as it is.

Not too bad so far in southern AZ. Only three days over 100 at our place, and yesterday it barely hit 90.

It is predicted to be abnormally hot and rioting
in major democrat run enclaves this summer.

Yeah. Cold and rainy at the Jersey shore. Give me some global warming. Maybe I’ll burn a tire to the global warming god.

[[All we have to do is change over to electric]]

And then increase the price of electricity 100 fold, then ban it entirely during certain hours, and then charge each person more or less depending on their income, then reserve what is left of electricity for the elites when usage goes over a certain amount

weather is likely to heat up in almost every corner of the United States.

Then, we'll just have to stay away from the corners and we'll be safe and cool.

Saving this report on my system with an alarm notice to read it again the 1st of October, to compare actual summer temps with this prediction. It may be that even NOAA is no longer a science outfit but just another political one.

The first thought of the government when extreme cold and extreme heat are the threat to people should be to make their mission to make sure that plenty of cheap electricity and fuel is available to stave off the discomfort and deaths that the threat brings.

What kills people is not being able to run the A/C, or the heaters, not what the outdoor temperature is in any given month.

When I was a boy, summers weren’t nearly as hot as they are nowadays.

I meant that the heat didn’t bother me as much. Being cold was the same. They both get more noticeable as we get older.

They said April this year, 2024, was one of the hottest on record, but it has been so cool here we have not even started the AC units yet and had heaters on.
BUT, in April 12, 1972 was so hot everyone had their AC units on. It was 102 F in Tulsa that year during the COMING ICE AGE scare. Some had 106 F.

Bourke, in his book ON THE BORDER WITH CROOK said the weather in Tuscon often got above, and stayed well over 120 degrees all summer long. That was in the early 1870s. 150 years ago.
