I recall hearing that day the media had footage of people hitting the ground at the WTC, but it was never shown on TV. I’m a little surprised the footage hasn’t leaked out over the years.
Hopefully the museum will have it.
I know it is morbid. But, it happened and should be available.
It has. There were several videos of people jumping and a few from inside that showed the impacts. They’re all gone. They should be forced viewing, especially for any fans of Ward Churchill and his ilk.
Friend in the FBI says they have aftermath shots that are also memorable taken on the scene just after. One he says keeps him up still. It’s the torso of a black flight attendant with her hands bound behind her with a plastic tie. No head. No legs. It was found on the ledge of a neighboring building.
That and the others should be shown as often as that iconic Vietnamese shot to the head picture that was and still is shown frequently. It fit the media template but the WTC pictures don’t, I guess.
The 9/11 shot to the collective American head isn’t allowed to be shown.
