This call would explain why Bush was diverted to Barksdale AFB and away from Washington.

... and there were AQ 9/11 assets not fully utilized, and (probably) not discovered by us. These presumably were waiting for AF1 along its flight path, perhaps with a shoulder-fired weapon near Andrews. Hopefully some photo analysts have been dispatched to comb the sensor data.

True, since they are infrared seekers.

Also AF-1 (the 747s) are equipped with flares and missile plume sensors; meaning that while the ride for the passengers would suddenly be ‘robust’, it’s unlikely AF-1 would be brought down by ‘stingers’ — even when low and slow for approach at Andrews. I feel certain the crew has drilled for this potential event.
