I remember waking up that morning and the radio alarm went off. Still half asleep I heard something about smoke coming out of the WTC. I thought are they talking about the 1990s bombing? Then I remembered that was in the winter.

I turned on CNN just in time to see the 2nd plane hit
I then came to FR and started following the 1st thread

Was driving back home after dropping off the kids at school, listening to the local talk radio… the host reported a plane flying into the WTC. Thought it was a light plane, until I got home and turned on the tv - second plane flew in and my husband called from work to ask WTH was going on… what a horrific day.

I remember in the aftermath, feeling the nation turn to God, but then as time passed, I noted a real push from news and the media to insure that that did not continue.

Dear Lord, please, guide and strengthen us in these strange and troubling times.

I remember waking up that morning and the radio alarm went off. Still half asleep I heard something about smoke coming out of the WTC.

I also recall hearing about the first crash on the radio, on the local "conservative" radio station in SF. Just about every year on 9/11, they replayed the audio of Lee Rodgers' announcement on the air. Chilling then, still chilling now.

This morning, I turn on the station to see if they are replaying it, or anything about 9/11. What do I hear? A Commonwealth Club recording of Liz Cheney prattling about who cares what. Followed up at 6 AM (just about when the planes hit) with INFOMERCIALS pitching "health" products.

Lordy, lordy, how this station (and this nation) has gone to heck in a handbasket over the past couple years. No wonder I hardly listen to it anymore.
