Just think how much longer those wait times would be if those baristas weren’t making $15.00 to $20.00 per hour. /S

Why not brew coffee at home for a tenth of the price and pour it into an insulated cup that keeps it warm for a half hour and take it with you. Then take the over $1,000/year saved and treat yourself to something.

Article never clearly explains what “this” is. Stupid writing.

We have Starbuckses around here, but Dutch Bros seems to get most of the traffic.

Checked my Starbucks app yesterday, wanted to check their prices - there were no prices anywhere on the menu - only when you went to check out could you see the price of your drink. This is being done on purpose b/c when you see how much prices have gone up for Starbucks coffee, you won’t order - why Starbucks said the orders were not being placed at the end.

The latte I used to order in another life is now almost $7.00 - plain, grande latte (California so high prices all over).

Glad I switched to making coffee at home - along with being far cheaper, it is far better quality.

perhaps the would-be customers comprehend that $7.50 for a cup of coffee is a rip-off?
you think the average Star*ucker has the gray cells to realize this?
it takes at least 2 gray cells...

If you buy a high end cappuchino/latte machine at home, you can have it paid for within 6 months by the money you save by not buying starbucks.

Starbucks uses the correct pronouns. That’s the important thing!

Tie this article with another one posted here regarding 15 restaurant chains closing stores. The one uniting feature is the fact that the economy is weak. And it is not just eateries. Two LA Fitness gyms have closed within 30 minutes of my home (DFW area). Eating out and gym memberships are among the first things people drop when the economy is on a downturn. Charities and churches will also suffer, although that is less visible than, say, a closed Hardee’s or Cracker Barrel.

We had a long thread on the best coffee. We all agreed that it’s wherever you can find it. Could be a from a mom and pop, at work, a machine, gas station, or McD’s. Or any other name brand. Just has to be good, Helps if it’s cheap.

Love my Keurig. One thing I found from using 2 pods is that if I mix two different pods, a Starbucks Tiramisu pod with a cheap brand, it can turn a so so cup of coffee to a good one.

In my opinion, a strong cup of Folger’s Instant tastes better than Starbuck’s. As I buy it in bulky sizes at places like Costco, I imagine it gets the job done for around $0.09 per cup.

I was a fan of Starbuck's Mochas for a long time. A few months ago, I noticed that the price had gone up so that it was over $5 for my drink (a tall mocha, no whipped cream), which is really a simple drink. Milk, a couple spurts of chocolate, and a shot of espresso. The only cheaper drink I could get there (other than just espresso) would have been the latte. I was not ordering one of those super large, very complicated, lots of different flavors added, drinks. Simple drink.

Eventually, I began to notice that the line that was usually there at the drive-thru that I went to, was not there anymore. Eventually, when I arrived at the window and the barrista gave me a total that was a nickel under $6 for a 12 oz. drink, I was done.

They have simply priced out their customers. I was certainly not the only customer that was noticing the serious rise in cost.

I enjoyed my last Mocha from them; and, I have not returned and won't.

I cannot understand the insanity of people rudely rushing around trying to get in line to buy their burnt coyote piss.

Apparently it is no longer stylish to set up an automatic coffee maker at home that has it ready when you get up. People just gotta have that green labeled coffee cup to show off and be in style.

Dummmmmmb.

If you go to any VA Hospital, the coffee shop is Starbucks. But they have no Starbucks logos at all and are named VCS PatriotBrew Coffee Shops. Their prices and stupid names for cup sizes are the same.
