still looks like FL in could be in trouble with flooding issues in a tropical storm or CAT 1 stalling for a few days

I’ve not seen even one hummingbird at my feeders since hurricane Sally. This is unusual.

I’m not surprised with this crazy storm season. When you see them again, the coast is clear.

What’s with the new Advisory update times? 1000 and 300 EST?

Time change

they stay on Zulu time all year as do the models

in other words everything is moved ahead an hour relative to last week in the USA

here is the water storage area for the everglades , this is the largest of 3 water storage area called WCA-3. It is way above regulation but they can only move so much water south out if it and it is pouring rain today

http://w3.saj.usace.army.mil/h2o/plots/wca3ahp.pdf

Here is Lake okeechobee it is at 16.13 feet as of today..it has fallen because they are releasing water east and west (not the natural flow) this causes other issues but they have no choice to take pressure off the dike. They can only move a little water south because of the high water there (and soon none)

http://w3.saj.usace.army.mil/h2o/plots/oke0.pdf

they can only move so much out of Lake and after Irma passed they released almost the max the can yet the lake went from 13.6 to 17.2

they lake has only been above 18 ft a few times and the record in 18.5 in 1998

If very heavy rains fall over and north of the lake towards Orlando

I think they have a problem

I’ll be driving around Lake Okeechobee in a couple of days. It is on the way to Mother’s house.

might not be as lucky this time since they are shifting the track back towards our house again. Hard to say what will be left of ETA after Cuba and the straits.Gulfstream waters are always over 80 degrees so unless it gets sheer or dry air could regain some and the keys wont stop it at all we are less than a mile wide in many places.
Frankly I’m more worried about election results than the storm.

Lots of uncertainty at this point. Most all Gulf storms have exceeded intensity forecasts this season. I’m driving over to the east coast tomorrow to storm sit with my mother. I don’t expect much except rain in Martin Co. On the other had, you will most likely be on the dirty side of whatever Eta brings us.

It's still early. Give it time. The FL Panhandle is on the maybe list.

Yup. Right now, I'm considering removing another tree.

The county tax assessors told me that they had to have access to my property to do an assessment because I have so many trees that they can't see from the satellite like most other properties.

Still early for a high confidence forecast, the NHC predicts 65 MPH winds in the Keys. Stay tuned.

For sure, right now it’s pointed at my kids house in Sugarloaf but that too could change, hard to say.I’m not too worried, lots of rain makes a small lake behind myl home other than that lots of trees making noise and shedding leaves and limbs but we have the greatest yard guy in the world so we are good.
I probably won’t miss any work either.
Looks like this thing may go back into the Gulf and than visit a neighborhood near you, just never ends.

Yeah for sure that could change, but it will have to really grow crossing the straights/Gulf Stream which is about 60 miles or so.

Tell whoever is operating the hurricane machine to take their foot off the gas pedal.
