"Technical school?
As in technically it's a school?
(I'm genuinely lost on that one)"

Technical school is one that specializes in specific learning, such as Dental Assistant, Veterinary Office Assistant, Computer Programming, Paralegal Skills, Cooking (as in becoming a chef) etc.

One can usually get a grant or can otherwise qualify for a student loan of some type.

There are also adult high school classes if you want your diploma, but in some areas, the classes are only available in the evenings. It wouldn't hurt to check out what is available in your community. Look in the phone book for schools, and it should give you an idea of what is available.

There's only one school in my area, Minisink.
I don't know what it has to offer, but I know
when I was a student there, it wasn't much.

I don't think I'd be any good at any of those professions...
I think I'd hate them all. If I'm going to do something, I
want it to be something I genuinely love.
