Some houses in the Los Angeles area are literally collapsing. Don't know if it is from simple saturation or from running water near by their homes though.

There is a thread about this elsewhere on FR, but I would imagine there is so much water that saturated foundations on imperfect sites are failing.

I think I have had only an hour of hard hard rain since Friday. Since then it has always misted or rained moderately, but the grounds have not had a chance to completely dry out.

There is going to be lots of hillsides collapsing from all this consistent rain.

There have been talks of dams overflowing in some areas as well.

That sounds awful. It sounds like the earth underneath them is moving.

We are having flooding problems in the Ohio Valley as well.

My sump pump hasn't shut off for 3 days. My area isn't under water but there are plenty others that are.

Louisville started putting up flood gates last week.

We have had many hours of hard rain here on the ocean.
The Ventura hillsides are almost sure to give way if it doesn't ease up.
