Do you even know the difference between BIRD shot and BUCK shot?

Uh, yes, I do. When I was a kid I hunted doves with birdshot. As an adult, I have a Mossberg loaded with 00 Buck in case Big Bird shows up uninvited.

Well, then... maybe you can tell us why this is such a HUGE deal when someone got shot with BBs. :D

Tell you what. The man in question was shot with 8 shot at 30 yards with a 28 gauge. I'll drop it down to a .410, use 9 shot and you can stand 35 yards away and I'll shoot at you. And then I'll believe you when you say it isn't a big deal.

Oh, and 8 shot is a lot smaller than BBs. Still doesn't make it any less dangerous to get shot with at a 30 yards.

Ok... just makin' sure... cuz most people don't. Well, ok, most people that I know of, anyways. I have been shot at point blank with birdshot, and gotten hurt, but not seriously, and certainly nothing embedded much. But I don't know what caliber weapon it was. Just that I got shot in the arse by a friend.

Which is all this was...I gotcha on the Mossberg.. I had to sell mine in CO because it's illegal here in Cali. :(:( But seriously, the media are wonkin' all over this because they think they can. And no one is putting the stomp down on them to get the to stop and shut up and pay attention to the real news... and quit trying to create it.

It seems that there are a few sides to this grumpfest, and many points are to be made - gee... maybe someone on the Prez's staff should sign up for Free Republic - but not the least of which has been the wonton ability for the Press Corp to blow molehills into the Himalayas, rather than report the facts. The delay, I blame strictly on protocols. A LOT of them. Again, I don't see what the big deal is on the delay stuff - because I did know of it Saturday night. Everyone else is just grumpy because they had to shovel snow instead. :P
