Entitlement syndrome, and people wonder why we don't think the vast majority of illegals would vote republican.

We already have enough people with that syndrome, we don't need to import any more.

I don't think the same numerical number should be set for Mexico as for a country with 10 times less population, if that's what you are asking.

That's today's talking point - as I said: brick by brick.

Clarence, I was going to ignore you... but since you apparently like to parse

Yes, 'they are all immigrants' but NO, that was not my point and you know it.

My point and that of apparently overwhelming (99.99%) * of us here on FR is that there IS a distinction between legal immigration and illegal migration.

You may wonder, how did I come up with that statistic?

Simple, using your vanity thread that you have referred to at least 5 times, there are perhaps 8 or 9 who are against all legal immigration. So, 240,000 users 9duplicates included) - 8 = 99.9999625

Second, I did not *claim* that Jeb Bush is clouding the issue... I wrote that he IS clouding the issue.

How's that for parsing?

The poor girl is proud to be an American, whilst the invading foreign quasi-slave children of los criminales are waving the enemy flag of Reconquista! And Minutemen are 'vigilantes'. I believe our government might indeed be out of control.

I said the dictionary definition of "immigrant" is what is accurate - I never extrapolated to millions of conservatives - look who is clouding the 2 now ; )

That's fine with me as long as you admit there's no evidence of "treason" under the U.S. Constitution.

"Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Tuesday that the tone of the debate had been "hurtful" to him and his Mexican-born wife, Columba."

What's hurtful to me, Jebbie-boy, is cheap politicians like you pandering to illegals. How about a little consideration for the rest of us--you know, those of us here in fly-over country who don't break the law, pay taxes, and in the past voted for people like you we thought might be conservative.

Don't even think about running for president. We've had two Bushes too many.

Jeb Bush offers some very thoughtful insights into this dreadful situation, and in the last line of the article, offers the idea that legal immigration should be open to scientists, entrepreneurs, and other "best of the best" types.

We have H1B and E-1/2 and EB-5 visas to bring in skilled workers and entrepreneurs.

So why are so many from mexico more entitled to come than those from other countries?

Why should we have to be the dumping ground for mexico's cast offs?

And would it be safe to say then that you are more concerned with where a person comes from than what the person does for a living?

We are living in a giant balloon that is bloated with civil unrest. This balloon will either wilt and deflate like a balloon left out overnight or it will pop with a loud and rattling BANG!.

If we wilt we will end up just another mediocre, socialist, pansy nation like France. If we pop we will go through a period of violence, anarchy, and possible civil war that could split the union.

Why are we faced with these two destructive choices...Because our government is corrupt to the core.

It's time for a do-over, but as to how we can have do over without shattering our country I do not know. But I do know that its the people's responsibility to keep the government in check.

Writing that Jeb IS clouding the issue is certainly a *claim* (which I believe is false). Even I make a distinction between legal immigration and illegal immigration - that's not my point - more than 8 or 9 here at FR want both forms stopped. I only want illegal immigration stopped. See the difference yet?

An investigation by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has found that the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS), the agency within the Department of Homeland Security in charge of adjudicating immigration benefits such as citizenship and permanent residency, is rife with fraud. The report has not been released, but a draft of the report obtained by the Washington Times says, “Adjudicators we spoke with said that management’s focused attention on reducing the backlog placed additional pressure on them to process applications faster, thereby increasing the risk of making incorrect decisions, including approval of potentially fraudulent applications.” The GAO report says that fraud in some categories of visas is as high as 30 percent.

Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), who has seen the report, told his colleagues on the Senate Judiciary Committee on March 2: “Let’s be realistic. Our government bureaucrats simply cannot implement a program for 11 million illegal aliens. You’d all be shocked if you learned about the internal fraud and abuse at the Citizenship and Immigration Service. I have been investigating the internal problems at CIS as well as their backlog of national security cases. The bureau doesn’t have an effective practice for reviewing these cases. Officials are being bribed. Visas are being given away. Green cards are being sold. CIS is giving out interim benefits, which is a precursor for additional privileges.... And we want this agency to handle the program in an effective manner? That’s unrealistic.”

True...I should have said that they publicly appear to hate each other.

I view Dems and Repubs as just two sides of the same coin. They probably duke it out on CSPAN to reassure their voting base and then they all pat each other on the back and go have steaks together.

Summer,

Didn't the S'Kerry One use "Nuances" as an excuse for political baffle-gab.

Just wondering.

"He doesn't give a cr*p about his oath of office. If he did, he would have followed his vow to uphold the constitution of the state of Florida in the case of Terri Schiavo."

Interesting point you make. Apparently, brain-damaged Americans have fewer rights than illegal aliens demanding shamnesty via mob manipulation tactics.
